CONTRIBUTIONS OF COMIC STORIES TO THE MOBILIZATION AND DISSEMINATION OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE

Abstract

The teaching of the sciences needs reflections, especially with regard to the mechanisms of dissemination and approximation of them. Mathematics is an example of science that has historically been difficult to understand, causing resistance to the processes of teaching and learning. Considering the aforementioned aspects, it is noticeable that many teaching methods arise from the attempt to mobilize the learning of this science. When analyzing this scenario, it was realized that Comic Books are potential methods, which, in recent decades, have contributed to the processes of knowledge, in view of its comic and attractive character that brings students closer to learning. Realizing this capacity, it was thought the elaboration of an extension project that made use of Comic Books (HQ), aiming at the mobilization and dissemination of mathematical knowledge. To this end, a sample of ten students was selected in order to go through formative processes, appropriation of the didactic instrument (HQ) and canonical knowledge, as well as dissemination of learning. Thus, to explore the results, we counted on the material produced, the feedback obtained in the media (Instagram) and with the mobilization of the knowledge of the participating students. The results obtained in the investigation were promising and it is believed that they will contribute to new research regarding the use of comics in science teaching.
