ACTIVE METHODOLOGY AS A PROPOSAL FOR EXECUTING WORKSHOPS FOR PNAE ACTORS REGARDING THE 10 STEPS OF THE PUBLIC CALL

Family farming, as part of the actions developed within the National School Feeding Program (PNAE), plays an important role in contributing to the reduction of food and nutritional insecurity (FNS), the promotion of healthy habits, and the valorization of socio-biodiversity. This work aimed to conduct regionalized workshops using active methodologies for PNAE stakeholders relevant to both ends of the family farming supply and demand chain in the state of Tocantins. These workshops were systematized into three stages: 1) analysis to select hub municipalities; 2) invitation to municipalities, PNAE stakeholders, and stakeholders; 3) workshop design and execution, based on the principles of active methodology. The workshops were divided into seven phases: 1) icebreaker, which aimed to encourage interaction and connection among participants; 2) dialogued presentation; 3) case study, which sought to delve deeper into specific PNAE situations and lead participants to discuss the complexities of the Program; 4) 10-step dynamics for acquiring family farming; 5) Discussion circle; 6) Activity evaluation. A series of five workshops were conducted with a total of 232 PNAE participants distributed across 71 municipalities in the state of Tocantins. The Palmas hub had the largest number of participants, with 36.64% (85) PNAE stakeholders, followed by the Araguaína hub with 28.45% (66), the Augustinópolis hub in third place with 15.52% (36), and the Gurupi and Dianópolis hub municipalities with the lowest participation rates, with 10.4% (24) and 9.05% (21), respectively. The workshops contributed to the promotion of new knowledge and the sharing of experiences, such as: operationalization of the PNAE, with an emphasis on financial resource planning, procurement processes (public calls and bidding), and nutritional aspects of menus, providing collective discussions, which allowed participants to adopt a more critical and reflective stance on the topics discussed. This study also demonstrated the lack and importance of ongoing regionalized actions and workshops to meet the needs of the Program in the State of Tocantins.
