The world has focused attention on the undeniable climate changes it has been facing, especially regarding the measures that must be put into practice, given the technological reality available. One of the ways to address this problem is through the implementation of renewable energy to replace the use of fossil fuels. Having as principle that education must be outlined by principles that lead to citizenship formation, capable of intervening critically to transform reality, the present work aims to present and analyze the perceptions of high school students about renewable energy, expressed during the development of Didactic Sequence (SD) associated with the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology, which was developed in a public school in Campo Grande/MS. The research approach is qualitative and of the pedagogical intervention type, the data collection instruments were two questionnaires (initial and final) and records produced during the problem elucidation process. The data was analyzed according to Bardin's Content Analysis methodology. Based on the results, it is possible to infer that the students showed signs of appropriation of new knowledge involved in the process of generating electricity from renewable resources, as well as the advantages of using renewable energy in relation to both its economic and environmental aspects. Finally, the students were protagonists in defending the adoption of a certain renewable energy in the chosen region, at the same time, they demonstrated creativity, engagement, collaboration and cooperation throughout the process of elucidating the problems.
