This study aims to describe the stages of constructing a digital prototype of an analog model based on the comparison between hydraulic and electrical circuits with the purpose of teaching basic Electrodynamics concepts. The use of analogies as a didactic strategy for teaching and learning electrical circuits can be a valuable resource, assisting in the cognitive development of students. However, its conception can be challenging due in part to the complexity of the common relational structure between the compared domains, capable of encompassing most of the concepts of interest within the realm of Electrodynamics, among other pedagogical aspects related to this type of didactic resource. Similarly, the use of models may also involve structural aspects that require careful attention during the sharing of meanings and the attribution of significance to the entities of scientific interest they represent. The challenge can become even greater when dealing with analogy-based models: analog models, which seemingly allow for the exploration of various analogical relationships grouped within a single form of representation, whether it be physical (concrete) or virtual (digital). The method used in this study consists of investigating elements, attributes, and relationships through potentially analogous comparisons found in physics textbooks involving electrical circuits, in order to facilitate the construction of a digital prototype of an analog model for this type of circuit. The results of this work offer contributions to the development of stages in the construction process of analog models for the teaching of physics, not only restricted to basic Electrodynamics concepts but also to concepts from other domains in this field of knowledge and other curricular components of the sciences.
