Abstract

This paper seeks to discuss the theme of the light effect on materials for the 3rd year of Elementary School through the development and validation of an Investigative Teaching Sequence - SEI, addressing the contents of the effect of light on materials, since the National Common Curricular Base presents this theme as one of the objects of knowledge of the thematic unit Matter and Energy of the 3rd year of EF. The present research has a qualitative character and is characterized by being empirical, subjective and enabling the researcher to interpret the speech of the interviewees. As a research objective, we seek to propose and validate a didactic activity of an investigative nature for the teaching of light and colors in the early years of elementary school. For validation, the teaching sequence developed was applied with 18 students from a class of the 8th period of the pedagogy course at the Federal University of Alagoas - UFAL. Questionnaires were used as a data collection instrument. The data from the questionnaires were analyzed and the results showed that the sequence of investigative teaching elaborated proved to be a great tool for the teaching of science, in the class in question, and that the investigative teaching method stimulates curiosity, questions and interaction with the class.
