Abstract

This paper, presenting a digital learning resource, aims to contribute to academic literacy in French as a foreign language. The specific focus is on typical collocations in academic genres. To this end, the text first explores discourse genres and their relationship to language teaching for academic purposes and the notion of collocations from a pedagogical perspective. Then, the methodological steps followed with the AntConc software to identify collocations that are part of the resource's activities are detailed. In a second step, the paper discusses the flipped classroom as a possible methodology for applying the developed digital learning resource. Finally, we present the activities designed to familiarize students with scientific language and encourage an investigative approach. These activities include reading, focusing on the way things are said, interlingual comparisons, and brief corpus linguistics exercises. The resource's contribution to learners and teachers is also noteworthy, especially as a support for active methodologies and the possibility of replicating and applying this model to other languages and areas of knowledge.
